Rocks may represent an interesting thing
only for the geologists or for those passionate by rocks, but
when it comes to a single rock formation in the White Desert,
the things totally change! The rock formations over here are so
interesting, fascinating and strange that everybody is
definitely amazed by their presence. The landscape created by
these rocks it seems like coming from another world. The most of
the rock formations have unusual shapes that look like different
things, such as mushrooms, the creator of the shapes being the
wind who eroded the rock sediments. The rock formations are
huge, so under such a mushroom you will feel small. And that if
the amazing rocks will not make you to forget about yourself.
There are areas where you can see how from the sand dunes arise
the rock formations like the sand would be the land for their
“roots”. You also can see sand ridges, which are very thin and
looking like some large and black bands. Another interesting
view is offered by some red and thin features that are situated
inside the large and black bands which are in fact the
reflections of the sand ridges abrupt tops. The rock formations
are, some of the, covered, some of them are exposed and colored
in bright colors, the variations of the colors depending on the
rock’s types and textures. The rock formations may be laying on
hundred kilometers; naturally, there are many questions about
how the wind erosion could make such shapes as if a sculptor
would have created the shapes with his hands. The geologists
have their explanations but the best thing we can do is to live
the joy of seeing them, like some nature’s wonders. |
