Western Desert is the place where you can
go if you have enough of the Egypt's bazaars and the crowed
Egyptian markets. It would be an escapade in a place not very
populated, since there are times when, in the Western Desert can
pass many day till you will see a tourist. And that means that
you will be able to visit in silence the tombs from the Qarat
Qasr Salim and from the Baharyia oasis, tombs that are adorned
with mural paintings. But if you want to remain overnight in the
desert you should have with you some blankets because of the low
temperatures that are frequent in the desert. Next to El Kharza,
at Al Bagawat are numerous tombs dating from the period between
the 2th century and the 7th century; inside these tombs are
adorned with scenes from the Bible. But, above all these, the
masterpiece of the Western Desert is the White Desert with its
thousands of white sand which is sculpted as the most daring
domes, belfries and figures cu mysterious origins. A possible
origin for the crystal Egypt may be the impact of a meteorite
that could had strike the Western Desert area with millions of
year ago. The specialist found a crater with a diameter of 31
kilometers and two circles that looks like some craters from the
Moon, a crater that may be the result of the meteorite impact.
This meteorite may be the author of the crystals in the Western
Desert, of the yellow-green fragments of the silicium glass that
can be seen on the desert’s ground, between the gigantic sand
dunes of the Great Sand Sea in the Egypt South West. The crater
wasn’t discovered earlier because of its huge dimensions and it
is still under the specialist's analyze. |
