Egypt Weather

There is in Egypt only two seasons not four as in many countries. Summer and winter are the two seasons that controls the weather in Egypt.

Summer is from May to October and winter is from November to April. The weather in Egypt in usually quite warm and very hot, the nights are mostly cool.

The temperature often varies in the inland desert part and on the coastal areas. In summer, the temperature may vary from seven degrees Celsius at night to forty three degrees Celsius during daytime in inland desert areas.

In winter there is not a so enormous difference in temperature in the desert, it may go down to zero degrees celcius at night and up to eighteen degrees Celsius in day.

Egypt has usually no real rainy weather. Annually Egypt usually doesn’t have a lot of rainfall. Rain occurs mostly on the coastal regions. The wettest part of Egypt is around Alexandria, but it receives only around two hundred millimeters per year. Alexandria has quite high humidity but with the sea breeze, it keeps the weather comfortable.

The capital city of Egypt, Cairo receives around one centimeter of precipitation yearly but has high humidity which may go up to seventy seven percent during summer period.
Sinai is one of part of the desert that receives more rainfall than other desert parts of Egypt.

There are some regions of Egypt that may have only sunny weather for years without a drop of rain and at once, the weather may change to downpours which bring it to flash floods.

In conclusion, the weather in Egypt may sometimes be very warm and sometimes quite cold.
