The Red Sea of Mahmya is one of
the most beautiful places in the world, very well conserved
although it has very numerous visitors. The beauty of this place
will take your breath away: awesome views, turquoise water, the
sand is white and very fine, many coral reefs, and a natural
architecture that is non-obtrusive and with huts from wood and
straw. You can also see shacks from grass and plain stones. The
Arabic translation of Mahmya is ‘the protected area’, which
totally fits with the shape of the Mahmya Beach. Mahmya is
situated at one hour by sailing with the boat from Hurghada and
is one of the two places that are allowed on the island. That
means that the human settlements are not allowed. A typical day
at the Red Sea of Mahmya may start at 9 o’clock when you can see
the tourists arriving on boats in Mahmya. The visitors can do a
lot of things from snorkeling on the wonderful coral heads of
the turquoise lagoon, to walking on the golden beach, play
volley, do scuba diving at one of the diving centers, or just
relax on the beach caressed by the warm sun. When the lunch time
comes, the visitors can enjoy a tasteful meal at one of the
restaurants; the meal can be an Italian specialty, or fresh
seafood. They also can continue with a refreshing ice cream, a
juice, a beer or some cocktails. At the request of the visitors
with physically challenges, some special arrangements are
available. The children can also spend a great time, celebrating
their anniversaries on the island in some very funny and
interesting ways. There are aid kits, very well endowed; the
rescue and security guards are also there to protect you. |
