Karnak is located in the
magnificent country of Egypt which a place of mysteries with its
pyramids which is a wonder in the whole world. Lot of tourist
visits Egypt and Karnak the temple complex where are found
ruined temples, buildings, pylons and chapels. On the above
picture one can view the avenue that leads to the first pylon,
the avenue as one can watch on the picture is all along with ram
headed sphinxes. The first pylon was built by the Ethopian Kings
in 656 BC. The ram-headed sphinx is God’s Amun symbol. Karnak
which village is known as el-karnak is a temple which is one of
the most visited place in Egypt, forming part of the most
visited places are also the Pyramids of Giza. Karnak is
considered as the largest ancient religious area in the world
and ia huge open air museum in Egypt. Karnak is located near the
village of Luxor which is a very touristic region in Egypt. The
main site of Karnak is the Great Temple of Amun. The pylons IV
and V are the earliest ones which were built by Tutmosis I. The
Great Temple of Amun is built along two axes with smaller
chapels and temples and a sacred lake around. Montu, the
original god of Theban area, had the northern enclosure and to
the south lies the enclosure of Mut connected to the precinct of
God Amun. Karnak is linked to the Luxor temple through an avenue
bordered by sphinxes. |
