Beginning with 1991 the
forbidden to import products has been eliminated one by one.
The rules regarding the import of products in Egypt say that
the import is free with the condition of these products to
not be forbidden by law and the import/export fees must be
paid.
The law regarding the imports
says that an importer must be recorded in the Importers
Register and must be of Egyptian origin.
The export
activities may be also made by firms that have foreign
participation. In Egypt is strictly forbidden to bring
narcotics, obscene materials, fake products and the ones who
violets the right of intellectual property.

The alimentary oil is one of the most
requested products at import.
Among the Egypt import
prohibited things are: gases, acids, Viagra, poisons, GPS
equipments, paints, honey, cosmetics, flammables, antiques,
radio actives, chemicals, batteries, toiletries, bearer
documents, powder, bio products, personal effects,
corrosives, liquor, perfumes and magnetized materials,
as
well as any things that may be offensive for the Muslim

There are items that can not be accepted for
carriage from international destinations without a
special regime: explosives, human body parts,
organs, embryos, corpses, disinterred and cremated
human remains, animal embryos, live insects and
animals (excepting via the Live Animal Desk), stamps
and collectible coins, weaponry, firearms, obscene
and pornographic materials, perishable foods and
foodstuffs, cut flowers and plants, shipments whose
importation, carriage, exportation is forbidden by
any regulation, statute or law, money (currency,
coins, paper money, cash, cash letters, bonds,
endorsed stocks),
wet and leaking packages as
well as the ones that emit a smell of any type,
dangerous waste (including syringes, used needles or
any kind of medical waste), shipments that need a
special license for transportation,

exportation or importation, dangerous goods,
shipments that can cause delay or damage of the personnel,
equipment or another shipment, processed and unprocessed
dead pets, animals and insects.
There are also some items
that are not accepted for carriage to international
destinations without a special regime: explosives, leaking,
wet and smelling packages, obscene and (or) pornographic
materials, stamps and collectible coins, weaponry and
firearms, processed and unprocessed dead pets, animals and
insects, human body parts, organs, embryos, corpses,
disinterred and cremated human remains, animal embryos,
dangerous materials, shipments that can cause delay or
damage of the personnel, equipment or another shipment,
dangerous waste (including syringes, used needles or any
kind of medical waste), money (currency, coins, paper money,
cash, cash letters, bonds, endorsed stocks), shipments with
importation, carriage or exportation forbidden by any
regulation, statute or law, live animals and insects
excepting the ones send through the Live Animal Desk.
