The Egypt HSBC is the short
name of the HSBC Bank Egypt SAE, a multinational bank of
Egypt that provides a large range of financial and banking
services.
The bank has a network of 17 mini bank units and
43 branches in Hurghada, Cairo, Sharm El-Sheikh, Alexandria,
6th of October City and Borg El Arab.
In 1982, the bank was
established as Hong Kong Egyptian Bank having 40% HSBC
ownership. The name of Egyptian British Bank was given to
the bank in January 1994 but the shareholding structure was
the same. In April 2001 the bank became HSBC Bank Egypt with
94.5% shareholding by HSBC. The bank was named the ‘bank of
the year’ in Egypt, in 2001, 2003, 2005, by the Banker
Magazine.

banking services offered by the bank is the initial
public offerings, corporate advisory on acquisitions
and mergers.

In 2004, the EuroMoney Magazine at the
Excellence Awards voted the HSBC Bank Egypt as Best
Bank from the Middle East and as the Best Debt House
from the Middle East; this prize was received by the
bank for the second year, consecutively.
More, the
bank was named the Best at Risk Management from the
Middle East. As a recognition of the bank` s efforts
of providing world class products and services, in
2008, the Global Finance awarded the bank with the
Best Consumer Internet Bank award.
