As regarding the Egypt dress,
on the whole period of about 3000 years of the antique Egypt
(3300 BC and till the Egypt` s conquer by Alexander Macedon
in 332 BC), very few changes happened in the Egyptian way of
dressing. The basic dressing code was a cope wrapped around
the body or several pieces of material tied in nooses. The
men were having their bust uncovered and were wearing a
perizoma, a kind of short skirt, and subsequently, in the
New Kingdom, a short shirt. The women were wearing long
shirt to the ankles, caught with pair of braces, white only.
The girls had their chest undressed and the dancers were
completely nude.

The girls had their chest undressed
and the dancers were completely nude. In the present Egypt
dress, if you visit the country you will see that the women
are dressed in different ways:
some of the young girls are
dressed in normal clothes and expose their arms, some of the
girls have a scarf on the head but showing their faces and
some women are totally covered by clothes, including the
face.

It
seems that more than 90% of the Egypt` s women wear
their shoulders and hair covered (the hijab) or have
their full body covered excepting the eyes (the
burka). Some of the women have the eyes covered
also. Egypt is an Islamic country and strongly
conservative where you can see young women dressed
in tops, tight jeans and colored hijabs. In some
tourist sites from Egypt you can see women dressed
with clothes that reveal their body, exposing their
cleavage and legs.

|
These women from West are seen by the Egyptians as low
women. And this is because what is considered sexy in West
is considered an inappropriate thing in the Arabic world.
If
you want to pay a visit to Egypt you should wear clothes
that cover your legs, shoulders, arms, as well as your
cleavage.
There are no problems regarding the way your wear
your hair. You can tied it in a bun with a scarf on it with
a knot in the back.
You can buy a scarf from the numerous
and beautiful ones that are sold in the Luxor and Cairo
magazines and which don` t cost too much.

More, if you want to enter in a Coptic
Orthodox church or in an Islamic church you have to wear
clothes that cover your body, including legs and shoulders.
There are tourists wearing shorts and sleeveless tops and
then there is no wonder why the Egyptian stare at them.
It`
s lack of respect and a bad attitude towards the dressing
code of Egypt. So, a good option is to wear shirts with long
sleeve, from light cotton, pants from light cotton and we
can wear a scarf on the head if you like it and if you want
to protect your head from sun. Only respecting the Egyptians
and their customs you will be seen as a respectful person.
When it comes to clothes is not hard at all.
