Nuweiba is a coastal town situated in the
Sinai Peninsula's East and its Arabic name it means “bubbling
springs”. There are three parts from which Nuweiba is
constituted from: in the North is Nuweiba Tarabin, where are a
Turkish fort`s ruins, a shallow bay and palms. In this part of
Egyptian town you can feel an oriental atmosphere, due to the
numerous bazaars and restaurants that make you feel like in an
oriental market. There are also restaurants made in the Bedouin
style.The Nuweiba Town has supermarkets and restaurants, as well
as a bank, a postal office, vegetable shops, bazaars and a
bakery. Between the Nuweiba Town and the Nuweiba Port (or
Nuweiba Muzeina) are “the small Duna” and “Duna”. In ”small Duna”
are hotels and camps, while “Duna” is a romantic place with
restaurants and accommodations with bungalows. The third part of
the Nuweiba town is the industrial area called the Nuweiba Port,
where,as the name says, it is a port. Many small hotels and
camps are situated along the shore, with sandy beaches and
beautiful coral reefs. There are numerous activities to do while
you are in Nuweiba; you can go in one of the trips that are
organized in Nuweiba and which include a visit to the Saint
Catherine's monastery, to the burial chambers dating from the
early Bronze Age that are situated in Nawamis and a visit at the
Stone of Inscriptions where are Roman and Byzantine writings as
well as wall paintings. You also can choose a camel trip to the
Colored Canyon, or to Ain Hudra, where are palm gardens, or to
the Ain Um Ahmad, which is considered the Sinai's most beautiful
oasis. There are also diving and shipping trips, many discos and
nightclubs, places with oriental music and traditional food. |
