Black and white represents the two colors that characterize two
desert areas from Egypt. The Black Desert and the White Desert
are both parts of the Egypt's Western Desert and both are in the
big depression terrain. In the Black Desert the sand is like a
gold copper and the grit has a black crust, things that make the
desert to have a dramatic look. The earth has a crust full of
slits from which the magma still flows slowly offering a
spectacle that attracts the tourists who come to visit this
place. Maybe the most captivating part of the Western Desert is
the White Desert where from the floor rise cusps of chalk. Other
forms of the land can be seen here that reminds of the times
when the Western Desert had wet sectors. Actually, the present
floor of the White Desert was a enormous lake's bottom. The
organic matter formed stones of pyrite that still can be found,
as well as some shells traces. The result of the wind erosion
and of the moved sand is the formations of chalk that give the
desert the white aspect. The terrain of the White Desert changes
from small round mounds to phallic forms of bigger heights or to
fascinating twisted shapes. The white chalk is combined with
sand and seems to cover everything. Numerous desert foxes, white
and small, can be seen looking for food. Crystal Mountain is
situated between the White Desert and the Black Desert; this
area is known for its quarts crystals; you can even take some
crystals with you, as souvenirs from these amazing and
mysterious places. No matter if you visit the Black Desert or
the White Desert you will be amazed by the view of these places,
especially by seeing the sunset in desert. |
